B2Last® Product Safety and Handling
BASF has conducted significant reviews and analysis to ensure that its new liquid asphalt modifier, B2Last is compliant with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and can be used appropriately in accordance with Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) provisions. It is BASF’s technical assessment that the use of B2Last does not pose any unique hazards to asphalt industry personnel beyond what is currently encountered in an asphalt operating environment. B2Last in fact poses less health risks than many materials currently in use by the asphalt industry.
B2Last technical support teams are prepared to work with you and your team to provide environmental health and safety (EHS) training and can work with your firm to provide guidance on and setting up an ongoing monitoring program at your discretion.
B2Last Liquid asphalt modification when handled as instructed also does not require any unique personnel protective equipment (PPE). BASF in multiple trials conducted in North America and Europe has conducted monitoring for volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and hazardous fumes. In fact, many commonly accepted asphalt modifiers and additives require more care in handling than B2Last.
